The 27th Fine Spirits Auction promises to be a colourful and lively occasion. This event will be both a genuinely exclusive festival, with some of the finest bottles on offer, but also one widely accessible to enthusiasts, with plenty of gems to snap up at all price points. 728 bottles from all around the world can be found in the auction catalogues.
Great Springbanks, including a local 1966 Barley, one of the pioneers of the range, and an even more revered 21-year-old from 1966. Ardbeg pulls out all the stops with an iconic 1974, along with a myriad of Committee editions. Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Kilchoman Octomore and Port Ellen complement the Islay collection. Gordon MacPhail proves its supremacy once again when it comes to old vintages, going all the way back to 1949 (Glen Calder). Between independent and official, Diageo’s Rare Malt range completes the picture with some of its rarest offerings, such as Brora and Port Ellen.
And let’s not overlook the United States, represented by leading names such as Blanton’s (The Race) and Pappy Van Winkle, nor Japan, represented by Hibiki, Yoichi, Yamazaki and Chichibu. We are thrilled to present Wealth Solutions’ Karuizawa Cherry Tree collection at the auction.
As for rum, we would be hard-pressed not to open the ball with the extremely rare Foursquare exceptional 1988 cask selection, the first in the series and by far the most sought-after. Velier holds its own, however, with two exceptional Caroni single casks - 991 and 1994 – rarely available for sale.
Several agricultural rums from the 1970s and 1980s are also featured: La Mauny, Trois Rivières, J.M and Depaz.
Grappa also makes a grand entrance at FSA, with a superb collection of around twenty bottles produced by the discreet Levi Serafino distillery. Will they succeed, however, in stealing the limelight from two spearheads of grape-based pomace brandy: Hennessy Paradis and Remy Martin Louis XIII?
The Une Chartreuse edition is back on FSA with three vintages: 2015, 2016 and 2022. The VEPs (Exceptionally Prolonged Ageing) provide an opportunity to travel back even further in the brand’s history, all the way back to 1968 in fact!
Happy bidding everyone!
