The latest edition of Fine Spirits Auction features some already highly sought-after bottles and many that will be very soon. In addition to the classic catalogue, 22 unique, exclusive charity lots will be uploaded to the platform on 21 October for the second edition of the Whisky Live Paris 2023 charity auction, the proceeds of which will be donated to the GoodPlanet Foundation.
Japan is beautifully represented at this auction through its rarest spearhead bottlings. Karuizawa’s 1969-1984 vintages, two single cask Yamazakis from 1993 and 1995, and a Kawasaki sherry cask bottled for Whisky Live Tokyo 2011 are all available. Single casks of Nikka Coffey Grain and Chichibu will also be under the hammer as well as a just-as-original but more affordable collection of Hibiki, Nikka and Yamazaki, and Hakushu miniatures.
Scotland has also stepped up to the plate with some lovely bottles of Macallan 1969 and 1991, and some more recent versions such as the 10 Year Old Cask Strength. Other distilleries include Aberlour (1976, 1971), Brora, GlenDronach, Glenlivet and Benriach, all with some venerable vintages. For blends, The General from Compass Box is back!
From cane to molasses, rum continues to play a key role at FSA. From Velier, the Demerara collection stands out in particular with a superb Port Mourant 1974. A few unique bottles of Tiger Shark Single Bottle are also available, as well as several versions of Foursquare, including the 10 Year Old 2006. Interesting rhum agricoles include Courcells 1948 and Trois-Rivières 1953.
Staying in France, two particularly exceptional bottles are under the hammer at this, the 21st FSA auction:
FSA x FONDATION GOODPLANET CHARITY AUCTION
Following the success of the 2022 edition, Fine Spirits Auction and the GoodPlanet Foundation will hold a second charity auction from 21 October to 3 November at Whisky Live Paris 2023.
This auction will also feature a unique bottle of rare Dalmore, original and made-to-measure formats (casks, demijohns, jeroboams and magnums) from leading brands and distilleries such as Caroni, Neisson, Plantation and Armorik, as well as complete collections with prestigious labels (Chichibu, Artist, Blanton’s and Penderyn, etc.) and original signed artworks on certain bottles.
These 22 exclusive lots will be on display at the Grande Halle de la Villette during Whisky Live Paris from 21 to 23 October.
All profits from the sale will go to the GoodPlanet Foundation, helping it continue its support of female entrepreneurship in Senegal through the development of a sustainable shellfish industry in the Saloum Delta (the same project supported at the 2022 edition), the installation of solar water pumps in Malawi, and the development of agroecology in France.
A huge thank you to all the brands who enabled us to bring you this extraordinary collection of bottles.
