Charity auction: 22 exceptional spirits with profits going to the GoodPlanet Foundation

As in previous years, a charity auction, to mark Whisky Live Paris has been organised on the Fine Spirits Auction website. 22 exceptional spirits - rare and often unique - are waiting for you. There are large formats, original bottlings and complete collections. All benefits from the auction will be donated to the GoodPlanet Foundation. This charity auction will take place from 21st October to 3rd November.

 

22 rare and exclusive lots

There are 22 exceptional lots on offer, all for a good cause - just another reason to treat yourself. You’ll find rare and even exclusive bottles, some in original formats and also complete collections from prestigious labels (Chichibu, Artist, Blanton’s, Penderyn, etc.) as well as original, signed bottlings.

Here is a small description of each of the lots on offer:

 

- Rare and Exclusive Lots

  • A unique bottle of DALMORE 43 Year Old aged exclusively in bourbon barrels.
  • A superb 3-litre mouth-blown CARONI bottle from single cask no. R6183, distilled in 1994. Only three bottles have ever been produced: Two for the company’s archives that will never be sold along with the one that has been entered into this auction.
  • A unique magnum of VALLEIN TERCINIER cognac illustrated and signed by Yann Arthus Bertrand, as well as a print signed by the photographer and founder of the GoodPlanet Foundation.
  • Four single casks of CHICHIBU selected by La Maison du Whisky. The labels for these four unique bottles have been designed exclusively for this auction. The lot also includes the four original works signed by Katsumi Komagata who decorated the labels.
  • A complete range from ARTIST Spirit Shop Selection, comprising of six cask strength single casks, including an Ardbeg and a Karuizawa, illustrated with artwork by Taiwanese painter Wang Yung Chiu. The original work, The Curious Case of Solidarity (2020, latex and paint, oil on canvas, wooden frame; 65 x 80cm) corresponding to the bottle by Karuizawa completes this lot.
  • Three hand-painted jeroboams from NEISSON, by artist Carole Aurore. Each is produced from one of the three Straight From The Barrel single casks selected for the New Vibrations collection.
  • A jeroboam from PLANTATION, Clarendon MMW, 1995, aged for 24 years in the tropical climate of Jamaica, before continuing its ageing process in cognac barrels in the cellars at Maison Ferrand.
  • A magnum of HAMPDEN 3 Year Old 2020 HLCF, bottled especially for Whiskey Live Paris 2023, aged in a single sherry barrel from the famous Bodega Lustau. Only three bottles have ever been produced: Two for the company’s archives that will never be sold along with the one that has been entered into this auction.
  • A unique bottle of Hampden 1983 from the Colours of Rum range from WEALTH SOLUTION, bottlers of exceptional whiskey and rum barrels.
  • Three unique magnums from SILVER SEAL. Each contains one of the three casks selected for the New Vibrations collection: Imperial 1995, Enmore 1988, Uitvlugt 1990.
  • A 30-litre barrel of 2009 Australian rum being aged in the floating cellar of Maison Ferrand. Around 50 personalised bottles will be made from this barrel. They will be accompanied by an empty barrel painted by Korean artist Dayoung Jeong.
  • A Dame Jeanne produced from one of the oldest ARMORIK barrels aged at the Warenghem distillery in Brittany.
  • A complete collection from the Experimental range by the calvados house CHRISTIAN DROIUN: 10 bottles, including two previews, have been bottled specially for the sale.
  • An exclusive 25-litre barrel of peated KORNOG from the French distillery Celtic Whisky Distillerie. Customers can leave the barrel to age for several years in the distillery's cellars before bottling their own mature cuvée.

 

- Exceptional Bottles

  • A rare bottle of the THE MACALLAN, Distill your World - Mexico Edition.
  • The complete BLANTON'S collection selected this year by La Maison du Whisky, comprising of six single casks. A seventh bottle rounds off the series, a dedicated bottling for Golden Promise, La Maison du Whisky’s whisky bar.
  • A complete Icon of Wales collection from the Welsh distillery PENDERYN: 11 bottles celebrating important figures and major historical events from Wales.
  • Three rare bottles of Glenlivet from the GORDON & MACPHAIL trading house, featuring the honourable vintages of 1946 1948 and 1954.
  • A bottle of KAVALAN that never been put up sale before. This bottle comes from a single cask selected for the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore.

 

- Signed Bottles and Original Pieces

  • A range of 5 MICHTER bottles, which are difficult to get your hands on in the USA. It is presented with the autograph of the distillery’s head distiller, Dave McKee.
  • The four signed bottles from MARS released for the New Vibrations collection in a unique case. The case comes with a video created by artist Takahiro Kurashima in a secure and non-duplicable format (NFT). The video can therefore only be accessed via this lot.
  • A signed bottle of WILLET Family Estate Bourbon 24 Years Old made from barrel n° B63, from which only 86 bottles have been produced.

 

An auction with all benefits going to the GoodPlanet Foundation

 

All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the GoodPlanet Foundation. This charitable initiative is a continuation of the previous year’s, with a focus on supporting female entrepreneurs in Senegal. More specifically, it involves developing a sustainable shellfish industry in the region of Delta du Saloum, installing solar water pumps in Malawi, and supporting the development of agroecology in France.
