The third auction of the year marks the jovial and most-anticipated arrival of spring with a rich catalogue of almost 1,200 bottles: antique rums, as well as whiskies from around the world, Chartreuse and other liqueurs will be on offer to the delight of collectors.
A journey through time, to Antilles, is a good place to start: Bally 1924, Saint James 1931 and 1938, Damoiseau 1953 and Flibuste with late vintages are all part of our expedition. Vintage and rare bottlings like these never fail to attract the attention of true connoisseurs!
During the sale, the oldest Scotch whisky available will be a Glenfarclas 60 year old. This whisky, distilled in 1953, boasts a beautiful mahogany colour that will appeal to fans of sherry cask-aged whiskies. One of the flagships from the Isle of Islay, Ardbeg, will be represented by rare (Ardbeg 1972) and vintage (Ardbeg 1974 DE) bottlings. Japan is also strongly represented by distilleries, such as Karuizawa, Yamazaki and Yoichi, to name a few.
Chartreuse bottles shine through on this sale, striking the eye with their diversity: VEP Verte 1964, Episcopale du IIIème millénaire and Jeroboam formats.
A wonderful series from Cadenhead also offers a wide range of whiskies, most of them Scotch.
Happy auctionning!
