Myths and legends!

Myths and legends: our way of showcasing this sale of over 900 bottles. It is a spirit-lovers paradise, with every major spirit category represented by exceptional bottles, some being auctioned for the first time ever. Chartreuse, Velier, Karuizawa, Saint James, Macallan, Blanton’s and even Port Ellen come together to form a collection of rare depth.

France leads the way with some of their finest offerings. Cognac is particularly well represented by Martell’s L’Or and several versions of Hennessy Paradis. French whisky is highlighted by a variety of highly-sought after Michel Couvreur bottlings, alongside revered bottles of Chartreuse from the 1960s. As for rhum agricole, the historic vintages of Saint James 1931 and 1936 are a testament to the rich heritage of the category.

However, fine collectible rums are not limited to the French West Indies. This sale also includes Caribbean bottlings from the 1970s by Rum Nation and Silver Seal. Velier naturally holds its own with Caroni, several Foursquare whiskies and the unmissable Skeldon 1978. The oldest vintage is the Crown Jamaica 1948.

Whisky takes centrestage, unravelling in all its beautiful diversity. Ireland is represented by a very rare bottling of Locke’s Kilbeggan 1946, alongside a Bushmills 1985 and 1986, as well as bottlings from Midleton. The United States comes in strong with a selection of Blanton’s, E.H. Taylor, W.L. Weller, Buffalo Trace and several editions of Parker’s Heritage Collection. Japan also shines in this sale with some incredible bottlings, such as the mythic Hanyu Card Serie, a Nikka 40 Year Old, a Yamazaki Private Cask and even Hibiki. The top prize, however, goes to the pair of 1965 Karuizawa Monyou: a sherry and bourbon duo from the same cask number, a combination of the utmost rarity and one that has never before appeared at auction.

Scotland will round things off with some of its most sought-after distilleries: Ardbeg, Bowmore, Brora, Glendronach, Glenfarclas, Highland Park, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Macallan, Port Ellen, Springbank and many more. There are also a few surprises along the way but we’ll leave you to discover those as you browse through the catalogue.

Happy bidding everyone!
