Auction report - January 2024 auction

The year has gotten off to a flying start at Fine Spirits Auction, so you thank you all for once again putting your trust in us and making the first auction of 2024 as exciting as ever!

More than 1,240 bottles went under the hammer and more than 250 of you made sure to place bids.

Notable examples include Cadenhead and its great-value-for-money lots. Enthusiasts flocked to the brand and more than 97% of the 457 bottles available found a buyer, with average bids of €122. The highest hammer price went to a Glenfarclas 1970 Sherrywood, sold for a bargain €525. Whisky lovers, take note, more than 330 Cadenhead bottles will once again go under the hammer in our February sale!

Springbank continued to make waves, with a 50 year old bottling whose damaged label didn’t stop a hard-fought bidding battle ending in a hammer price of over €6,000 after 51 bids.

France also had an excellent auction, with more than 92% of is 52 bottles of Chartreuse finding a buyer. A huge surprise also lay in store for cognac, with Hennessy’s special bottling commemorating the 50th anniversary of the independence of Barbados fetching €775, well above its high estimate.
