ECLECTIC
What better word could describe the 26th edition of Fine Spirits Auction? The 880 lots under the hammer this May include both bottlings from iconic brands and a medley of niche releases from bottlers all over the globe.
Rum is the perfect example. And where better place to begin than with Velier? A number of ranges represent the brand at this auction, from Caroni (of course) to Habitation Velier, Basseterre, Rhum Rhum Libération, Papalin, Hampden, National Rum of Jamaica and the Demerara Collection.
Staying with Demerara, the hugely varied list of bottlers featured at this auction include but are in no way limited to:
Alpha, Berry Bros & Rudd, Black Tot, Bristol, Cave Guildive, Colours of Rum, Corman Collins, El Dorado, Duncan Taylor, The Duchess, Famille Ricci, L’Esprit, Moon Import, Nobilis, Rom de Luxe, Rum Nation, Samaroli, SBS, Shark, Swell the Spirits, Sylvano Collection, Vallinch & Mallet, Wild Parrot, and The Whisky Agency.
Plantation—currently in the process of becoming Planteray—is also worth a mention, found here in its flagship range Extrême, alongside a number of bottlings that helped establish its reputation, including the Jamaican rums from the 1990s and early 2000s, the Savanna bottlings, Sainte Lucie and other Trinidad bottlings.
Rhum agricole also makes an appearance with some of its greatest champions, Neisson, St James and La Favorite, to name but a few.
Staying in France, Chartreuse continues to go strong at FSA and brings us bottlings from the 1940s up to the present day.
And who could forget whisky? Still the leading category at Fine Spirits Auction,
there are American whiskeys, such as Heaven’s Door, Whistle Pig, Blanton’s and Blood Oath.
There are Japanese whiskies, such as Karuizawa, Hibiki, Chichibu, Yamazaki, Yoichi, Hakushu and Miyagikyo.
And, of course, there are Scottish whiskies, such as Bowmore, Ben Nevis, Macallan, Springbank, Highland Park, Imperial and Laphroaig.
Enjoy the auction!
