Autumn is here !

It’s Fine Spirits Auction’s second back-to-school period and already the 20th auction launched on the platform. Thank you for coming back in ever-increasing numbers at every new edition!

For cane and molasses, Velier is well in the lead this month, with a very diverse range comprising bottlings from Demerara (Uitvlugt, Enmore & Port Mourant), Caroni, Hampden, Foursquare and the Antigua Distillery. A few unique editions of Tiger Shark Single Bottle are also back at FSA, after their exclusive launch in late 2022.

Generally quite rare at auction, Maison Ferrand’s rums make an appearance at this edition with the outstanding Plantation Extrême ranges.

Rhum agricole also throws its hat in the ring with traditional players like Damoiseau (1953), Clément (1970), Bally (1985), J.M. (1987) and La Favorite.

Staying in France, Chartreuse once again pulls out all the stops with a selection of VEP bottlings, including a gift set of two bottles of 1968. Well-informed enthusiasts will also spot even older versions produced in Tarragona, Spain at the start of last century.

France’s solid reputation is equally held down by a number of rare bottles from Hennessy, including an Annual Exclusive Collection, a Paradis and a Marc Newson Edition.

Moving onto malts and starting in Scotland, there is a truly excellent selection of sherry bombs available, testaments to times gone by.

Official versions include:

  • Laphroaig 1974 Single Cask LMDW
  • Glendronach 1972
  • Macallan 1977

... while independent bottlings from Gordon & MacPhail include Talisker & Strathisla 1955, Glenlivet 1956, Glen Keith 1967 and Caol Ila 1969. There are also two outstanding Springbanks, a 1968 and a 1970 from Berry Bros and Prestonfield.

Scotland also brings us an exciting medley of closed distilleries, from Port Ellen to Rosebank and Brora, of course, as well as Imperial, Banff, Littlemill, Millburn, Glenlochy, Lochside, Ladyburn and Dallas Dhu.

Not to be outdone, Japan and the US offer up some great classics, such as the Yamazaki and Hakushu 18 year olds and the Hibiki and Taketsuru 21 year olds. And lest we forget the well-established and up-and-coming Karuizawa and Chichibu.

Across the Atlantic, Van Winkle and Blanton’s fly the flag for America.
